This is probably the most important message I can possibly share with you this year!
IF YOU’VE BEEN FEATURED IN PAST TIF ISSUES
(this includes all Honorable Mentions)On January 15th, 2025 I will share The TiF Annual Recap of 2024! What the heck is that? Well, aside from an insane feat of monumental proportions, it’s your chance to tell me ONE (AND ONLY ONE, I mean it!) story you’ve written between January 1, 2024 - December 14, 2024 and share it with me. I will then create the LARGEST TiF PDF list for everyone to download!
But, like all things in life, there are a few rules here:
You must have been featured in a previous TiF issue. If you provide a link and you’ve not been in a previous issue, you forfeit being featured in the entire 2025 calendar year. Why such a harsh punishment? There are 100+ of you I need to keep track of, I don’t want to gum up the works so I hope this is a deterrent.
The link you share must be FREE-to-READ and have been posted between 1/1/24 - 12/14/24. Yes, I know it’s mid-October right now. This means, if you know of something you will be releasing in the next two months you can, if you want, wait until it’s released and provide the link to me at that time. But 12/14 IS the cut-off!
I’m sure I don’t need to say this but I will be checking your story. If I deem it to be too extreme in any way (violence, language, etc.) then it will not be used. My rule of thumb is: If you have to ask if a story is ‘okay,’ chances are, it’s not!
Please, please, please only provide ONE link. If you provide more than one link, or your selection is deemed too extreme in content:
I will list your Featured story from the last issue you were in. So, if you appeared in more than one issue, whichever is your last issue will be selected.
Why all the rules? What’s the big deal? Well, because so far this is opened up to over 100 of you! I need to make putting this together as easy as possible for me. Also, if you haven’t noticed, the time I have to do this is literally during the holiday season of December 15 - January 15! I don’t mind doing it. In fact, I am excited for it. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to play 20 guesses to put it all together.
Now, as for why I’m doing this in the first place? Well, it always bothered me that TiF started in July. What about the stories that were shared between January to June of this year? This is my way of giving you an opportunity to Feature a story from the first half of 2024, if you want.
Okay, so, the biggest question I’m sure you have is: HOW DO YOU TELL ME THE STORY YOU WANT LISTED?
October 15th, a post similar to the CALL FOR YOUR FICTION will go out. But, unlike that email, this one will be open until 9pm EST on December 15th. You’ll have two months to make sure you put ONE link in the comments of that post and that post ONLY.
ONE LAST IMPORTANT THING. For those of you who HAVE NOT been Featured, or who are readers and subscribers, I’m sure you will want to compliment what is happening and the stories that are shared in the October 15th email. You may do so. I just ask that you keep them to a REPLY to a Comment and NOT a reply to the Post. I want to keep the comments section as clean as possible so I am just seeing the links and any conversations happening nested within. I will be sure to list all of this again in tomorrow’s email. There will also be important news regarding the PDF and Medallions for this HUGE list as well that you won’t want to miss!
Thank you, and I hope, like me, you will be looking forward to The TiF Annual Recap of 2024!
