Hi Erica! I want to thank and congratulate you for everything you've done for the fiction writers here. I know I don't say much, and I've missed the last two submissions, but it's the holiday season, so that's to be expected. I do have a question about the LIVE feed category you just started. Is that going to be different from the readings I give...in that it's a LIVE broadcast and mine are recorded? Obviously, the readings I give with my STORIES, AFTER EIGHT are different because they are read out, edited (sort of) and presented as such. But how many people are doing LIVE broadcasts, compared to those like mine, or say, Ben Wakeman, with his reading his DEPARTURE serial novel? (I know he did a live one just last week and it was good.)
This will likely be as few and far between as the Comic/Cartoon category that we also have. It will be relegated to the use of Substack Live though. So if it's pre-recorded audio/video that is edited for a post then that will not count as those stories are already eligible to be chosen within the other categories of a short story or micro fiction, etc.
The point of the Substack Live category is to hopefully convince more people to do it. To just pop onto their Substack Live, read a short story or poem or micro fiction or serial chapter and then take that Live reading and turn it into a rewatchable post. If and when that happens I'll be sure to be on the lookout and highlight them whenever possible.
It seems like such a great feature that more fiction writers should take advantage of and I hope that by giving it its own category that's exactly what will happen. I hope this answers your question and that's for asking. I'm thinking of creating an FAQs page that will answer this and other questions that visitors to TiF might have.
Thank you so.much for choosing one of my stories
